About the Theater
Back in 1953 a small but tenacious group of theater buffs pooled their talents, energies and resources, wrote a viable Constitution, and formed the first theater group in Monmouth County - Monmouth Players, Inc. The group performed in several locations around the area until they established a home in the Navesink Library Theater where we continue to produce three plays a year between September and May.
The theater has recently been renovated by our peerless landlord, the Duryea/Navesink Library Board; transforming the look of the space from "Meeting House" to "Theater." Monmouth Players contributed to the transformation with new sound and lighting equipment to enhance the theatrical experience.
The Players are proud of our success and fully aware of the inherent responsibility to our audience for its generous and welcomed support. It is this support that assures our continued success in bringing good theater to the community.
